BINGO! I went to my local SS office in NorCal this morning. I've been there before. You could walk in and scan a QR code and been seen maybe 30 mins. Today: no walk-ins. It's all appointments now. The suggestion was to call the Main SSA number for help (after 5pm was best I was told).

I gave a MAGA relative in Iowa. She’s 72yo, poor, lives in a rural town nowhere near a city - & is completely reliant on SS $ for daily life. When I warned her of Project 2025, she screamed at me that he said he had no intention of using that.
