Anyway, I found a replacement belt in the nearby Target store and while I was there I saw how much the eggs are going for... $15 for a dozen large free range eggs! I can see why everyone's complaining about eggs here now

Those are Vital Farms. They're the bourgeoisie eggs. I forget what the normal price was at my store but I think it was like $7 or something while the store brands used to be $2 or $3.
Sly while you are over there can you check the prices of other normal grocery items. I've been told several times that supermarkets/corner shops are much more expensive than the UK while eating out is much cheaper than the uk. Which be interested in what you happen to come across?
Yeah, that is definitely true here. Groceries are very expensive indeed. The new government pledged to reduce costs but it doesn't seem to have worked. I'm not really expecting to be going to any more supermarkets tho
Oh OK, but you have seen what i've been told. When i watch people going to places like dollar tree/ dollar general on you tube i cant believe how expensive things are. I think it is due to the government wanting people to eat out rather than at home and creating jobs.
It's not that it hasn't worked, it's more that they haven't even fucking bothered to try to do anything that would even remotely got toward reducing prices let alone simply stablizing them.
As as side note, those are about the worse case eggs. Organic, free range, artisanal. A dozen Safeway store brand are _only_ $10. (No shit, they were $7.50 last week.)

Now the store brands are $5-8.
I'd say more but I'm afraid I'd get disappeared by Homeland Security for Criticizing the Orange Shitbeast and the other fascist ball lickers.
