My niece loves Stitch and my sister is beyond excited to take her to see this. There is a very clear market for these remakes, despite what people online tend say.

Maybe, but with Disney+ and the like, I doubt that a full theatrical re-release would do nearly as much as a remake.

They could do decently if they actually marketed them. Plus I don’t think it exactly costs them much to release something they’ve already made and they sure love saving money.
Not everyone has Disney+ or even wants it.

I feel like at best it’d work as like a Fathom Events type limited engagement (do they even still do those?), but I doubt Disney would want to work with Fathom.

I still have the mindset that there's some genuinely valid artistic merit to be had in interpreting a story in a different artistic medium, embracing the differences and re-imagining the narrative thru those differences.
Problem D has is they pick the safest options & fill them with CGI anyway

The biggest problem with these movies is, if they stick too close to the original then there's no real reason to remake it outside of greed. If they stray too much and are too different from the source material, then why not just make it it's own unique IP? Maybe they can thread the needle this time

But yeah I kinda feel the same even about the concept of live action remakes. ;)
I've not watched any live action movies yet actually.. even TLK that I bought on bluray.

I wouldn't mind them rereleasing the originals with an increased fps
