Back when I cared more, just to be around people (especially if I don’t know them) it would put me in a state of hyperviglence (if I was expected to pickk up on cues, or if I put that expectation on myself)… so I don’t (whenever I can avoid it).

Meanwhile Autistic body language often is completely different from non-autistic body language (easier for me to pick up on)… but I am often told I am “not using my face” or body “correctly” by non-autistic people.

This!!! Why is it we have to accommodate people with Allism, yet they refuse to reciprocate??? Yet we’re the ones who are held as “lacking empathy, lacking social reciprocity”? And yes, why can’t they just say what’s on their minds?
