Hello friends. Today I want to tell you a story.
It sounds small, I know, amidst all this. But small things matter, and I'd appreciate your consideration.
This is a story of a cat. Specifically, this cat.
On the left is the first photo I ever took of her. On the right is a recent photo.

In the summer of 2020, I saw a post on Facebook. An old friend had found a litter of kittens behind her building. One was sick.

I caught Pierre's mother almost immediately. She was tiny, barely a year old at most, skinny and barely surviving.

She was, simply put, the sweetest feral cat I had yet met. She was terrified of people, but never aggressive. So I decided to rehome her.

I refused to put her back outside. I refused to euthanize her.
I determined to keep trying to rehome her.
And then she learned her name.

But then she learned "Madam" as her name. She started purring when I came up to her crate instead of covering. She did blinkies at me.

[ps. god love ya.]
I’d take her in a heartbeat, all of ours were feral covid rescues, but there’s just too much ocean (literal & bureaucratic) between us.. so instead I’m hoping @catsofyore.bsky.social can maybe give this a share 🙏
