I would love... LOVE... If they approached it by interpreting the full manga. From what I remember the manga wasn't completely done ( but it was Ohtomo's way of maintaining as much control as he could)

i don't think no cg at all is realistic, it's not the 80s anymore. that said it should be made to look seamless. idk who would be best suited for that job, maybe production IG or so, but it can be done

I remember watching it in my local art house theater in Japanese without subtitles and thinking "damn, this looks terrible."

Honestly, modern Gundam has shown the glaring flaws in computer aided 2D animation. The hyper-consistency is an express trip to the uncanny valley.
