Let me spell it out for you Jacinta, because you don’t seem to understand. People who voted No did so because you cruelly gave them permission to reject reconciliation. That doesn’t mean No voters like you. And Yes voters are devastated by what you did. You are not popular and you are not a leader.

The Voice was never about power politics, or forcing the government's hand in ways that benefited Indigenous Australians.
Power isn’t always about control; sometimes, it's simply about being heard.
Social media in 2023 was a cesspit of anti-Voice fear, resentment, & misinformation, which helped crush the hope the Uluru Statement from the Heart embodied.
The fight against poverty and the fight for Indigenous justice both push back against systems built on dispossession and control.

It gave no mandate or support to the right wing for their culture wars and racism.
He clearly won on The Voice. It was a victory. The Voice was rejected by Australian people...BUT his victory didn't help him, it damaged him. He introduced enough doubt on The Voice that people rejected it BUT they didn't like the role he played.
Abbott, Turnbull, Morrison, even Barnaby backed recognition.
Then came Dutton, Gina, Littleproud & Price.
And they torched a generation of goodwill and hopes for reconciliation.

Dutton introduced enough doubt, and fear, and uncertainty that some felt compelled to vote NO for safety's sake...but they didn't like him for doing so.
