Legally he can't, laws only work when they are enforced. He could simply refuse to leave office and unless the law is enforced he can get away with it. Enforcing would require republicans to break from blind feilty and remove him forcibly from office

I think we’ve learned that trump uses the law when it benefits him. Otherwise, he defies court orders (even SCOTUS) or has DoJ attorneys playing “whackamole” with our judiciary. Thus far, GOP led Congress has not taken any action. Repugnant.

He doesn’t leave office. The office leaves him. He could barricade himself inside the Oval Office but he wouldn’t be President after 12:01 on 1/20/29. If he was able to exercise any power after that, it would be as something other than the President.

Unless congress does their job he's the commander in chief. Of course this is not legal, but laws don't seem to be important to him. He claims he doesn't know he has to follow the constitution in spite of the oath he took to do exactly that.

The constitution he's been ignoring for 100 days what makes you think he will be any more willing to follow it in 1000? Fortunately he's doing an incredibly bad job of getting the people who would let him dispose the current government and become a true dictator for life so we shall see.
