Why would Newsom need to when his AG has already filed multiple lawsuits against the Trump admin for their cruel immigration policies while he himself demanded that Noem return Romero.

Bad faith reporting & accusing Dems only act in response to polls is a media thing.

Fair. Both represent CA. They (the state of CA) filed a lawsuit against Trump on tariffs. Then Newsom was accused of allegedly saying that Garcia/due process was a distraction when the actual question was inaudible (45:01) & it is inconsistent w/ his recent actions.

Because Romero is gay and Newsom recently made it clear to all LGBTQ+ people he will toss us under the bus if he thinks it is politically expedient. He thinks mentioning this man in particular will help him get our support. Hell no.

Newsom should have stood by transgender athletes in schools. He should be criticized for it. But, he also has a documented history of supporting LGBTQ rights.

On the question of political expediency, we have different lens. I assumed he advocated for Romero because it happened in San Diego/CA.

I have known this man and how he operates since he was appointed to an empty Supervisor's seat by Willie Brown in the 90's. I am well aware of what he has done in his political career and have spoken with him many times.
