#WIC provides specific foods chosen through a rigorous, science-based process, including fruits & vegetables. Even with the increase, #WIC aims to provide only HALF of children’s recommended fruit & vegetable intake. The President’s FY26 budget would severely cut the fruit and vegetable benefit, reducing it by 62% to 75% and leaving low-income pregnant women with only $13 monthly, and low-income parents with only $10 monthly for fruits & vegetables for their toddlers & preschoolers.
