I dislike the muscular tomboy bro character archetype as whole, my particular hate for Kanna has just kinda accelerated by being the only person who doesn't have her as a favorite or second favorite character

I get where you're coming from, I think what saves kanna for me is that unlike most tomboy bro dude characters in anime, kanna has a real story that's touched on ( I hate egotistical rich girl stereotypes but swear up and down sumire was done right) so i cut her a lookout of slack
