Even if these 6 don't believe in a literal hell, having been raised catholic (K-12), I know Pope Leo could instill a great fear into their souls by excommunicating them.
5 of the 6 conservatives are catholic, my mistake, I thought all 6 were. Imho, having been raised catholic, the idea of a literal hell is so embedded, and indoctrinated, in the parochial psyche that no matter what your logical mind tells you, you still *believe* there's a chance you might go there.
Thank you for this tiny sliver of hope. Srsly. I've read so many books about how The Church shaped Europe after the fall of Rome. I know it's far-fetched but the Pope deserves a chance to redeem all the people- roasting of the Middle Ages in one fell swoop. An historic moment for the institution.
Stop teasing us! There was a pastor in San Diego I think who showed up and stopped a proceeding. They do have power to guilt these people into doing the right thing.
They either don’t care or don’t believe they’ll be judged as harshly as they deserve. Either way, self-delusion is doing a lot of heavy lifting to help them get through the day.
Can they be charged with crimes of violating the Constitution and their oath? I am not legal expert but the corruption is obvious. The violation of due process is obvious.
