LoL when I worked for DoD the linguists and analysts had a running disagreement about whether a given word meant moose or elk. the linguists won when they found a captioned photo clearly showing a moose using the disputed word. they pinned it up for the analysts to see and boy were they mad.

I have a relative who was an intelligence analyst, based in Sudan, back when trump was elected in his first term. She and several others immediately resigned or went on sabbatical as soon as he was sworn in. They knew exactly what was coming, all the way back in 2016.
