And closer than being homeless and bankrupted by the medical mafia than ever, thanks to the two-party-cartel continuing to accept bribes to keep playing keepaway ball of universal healthcare from American citizens.
I lived on the charity of others for 4 years... I know how this is. I never look down on the unhoused, for but for the grace of my friends, I would have been there.
People who don't have houses may still have homes. That spot behind the dumpster that is shielded from wind and rain is probably more valuable to an unhoused person than a mansion is to a gazillionaire.
Just picked up prescriptions and an unhoused soul was asking for money. Asked him if he knew my friend Jack (post about him if the spirit moves: https://richardbeneteau.com/blog/ ) and he did indeed. Always engage along with some cash (Jack NEVER takes money) and we always conclude God Bless You Brother❤️
I personally think we should call things as they already are. When we keep changing terms that are not necessarily derogatory, that’s when the right keeps demonizing us as too woke (which of course is not a bad thing for us). We can try to be less PC so we can focus and still fight for what’s just.
Once people lose their jobs and social security, there will be millions of people homeless. I am not American but I am fearful for all Americans and the desperate situation coming. It will be up to churches and individuals to look after the new and existing poor as civilisation breaks down.
Hmm..that’s always been my saying. I’m more likely to need a safety net than making a billion dollars. Not that I put that out into the universe to happen. Just an observation.
Closer than you think. If you have low to zero savings, you lose your job, you can’t pay your mortgage or rent or car payments. Sad and it happens to so many every single day.
I'm seeing new families on the streets, and it breaks my heart. I help when I can, but even with a great education, I never made a big salary since I chose to work with people.
A few unexpected medical bills could push a lot of people over the financial cliff. I saw a story of a mom whose daughter got leukemia, and the insurance company was denying claims. She sold her house to cover the costs. The story found them couch surfing at a friend's but alive and happy.
Me, a year ago. An accident left me unable to work. Lost my job, insurance, apartment and the credit rating I worked so hard to build.
I got lucky and landed in a subsidized senior apartment, but I feel like my life is over

Your distance between housed and unhoused is literally $300
How dumb are they?
They believe their own fantasies about being billionaires and snipers. 🙄
Or are you just saying?
