Removal of the two child benefit cap is their favourite topic.
Downplay the positive action and noisely complain about something else.
A lot don’t know that the cap isn’t on child benefit but how many you can claim when claiming other benefits.
5 kids you get 5 lots of child benefit,apply for another benefit you can claim for 2.
Some don’t know that.
And yes, I know there are plenty more bills than just council tax. Some are up more, some are up less.
The point being there are many things money can be spent on & there are many ways a household's income can go up.
Don't look at things in isolation.
Alone it's a relatively small amount, but combined with other things, min wage rises, for example, if someone is on min wage, then it all adds up to something better
Or the fact branded uniforms will soon be limited to 3 compulsory items, which could save some people around £50 a year.
Add a whole range of measures together and these can make a difference.

I a mgenuinely interested because its a similar system for all means tested benefits such as Winter fuel allowance.
You would just give UC to everyone without knowing how much money they had coming in, or in savings?
