imo i feel like the sweet spot is ~4k attendees, like how blfc currently is x3

if you're active in the fandom you'll know enough folks attending, easily be able to spot friends in the con space and won't be spread so thin trying to fit everyone in that you're unable to have quality time anyone

Yeah, that's a pretty decent size! I could tolerate up to maybe 7k, but anything larger than that is kind of a put off...

When FWA first moved into the Marriott around 2015, it was just in the Marquis and basement levels. Propane and airline conventions had the Atrium level.

It was already difficult to find people back in the sheraton days, I can't imagine 15-20k attendees spread through so much space 😰

i stopped going to mff when they started moving into the convention center. probably walked 100 miles in those hot skywalks lol. pain to do in fursuit
