reminder that when asked about the Israeli settlers Rashida Tlaib expressed a reluctance to have them evicted because she didn't want to share the pain of the Nakba
Republicans hate Tlaib for being obstinately proudly Palestian-American and those liberals that share the feeling generally just fall for right wing agitprop
Good signal for which of the squad wins versus loses is who constituent services like crazy versus who doesn't. Getting better at this basically saved Ilhan Omar.
I admire that she holds this position, because I can't help but think that displacing at least some West Bank settlers have to be displaced to find some sort of actual solution to the conflict. I'd love to be proven wrong and for her to be right though.
I remember when she said that the idea of a safe haven for Jews after the Holocaust was a good thing and a bunch of right-wingers took it out of context to claim she was saying the Holocaust was good. When MTG of all fucking people tried censuring her she included it in her resolution too.
Following Tlaib’s FB page for a while now even further reaffirms how normal she is as a politician because you see posts of her out in community meeting all kinds constituents and engaged in lots of local services. Very different from the intra party fighting squad poaster reputation imo.
