It’s such a core memory for the child. My son would wait for the trash truck every week from the time he was 2. When he got older they would give him little jobs. When he started kindergarten, the crew knocked on my door one day making sure all was well since they had not seen him.
When I worked at Head start, we would see the trash truck come through to empty the dumpster. The kids would all run to the fence to wave at him and he would always blow the horn. From that day to this, I have always saluted the trash truck drivers when I see them 🥰 And sometimes I bring coffee
My daughter was a project engineer for a construction company… and when the crews were out they would always do this for the kids… one 10 year was adopted by the crew and he’d show up for work everyday, it was summer, and he’d follow the lead guy around.. and they’d give he little jobs…

Me too! Building with metal & glass for many years. As a kid I was the kid on the construction 🚧 site fence that had to watch it being built. I make sure to always be on the 👀 lookout for that kid 💙🦋☮️ thanks for always making my day Jessi.
