You've reminded me of 2 of audiobooks that are perfect for commutes, family car trips, dog walking, etc. Heartwarming & beautifully read by Hayden Panettiere, who was nominated for a Voice Arts Award for both books. This one explores animal intelligence:

I wish all the people in the world were as intelligent, observing, patient, caring, curious, and kind as this dog there wouldn't be very many problems or much that us humans couldn't do or solve
