Like, I have known plenty of people who processed differently and preferred comics or audiobooks or some other alternate media, totally fair, but this seemed to be something else again and I just kinda went blank and said “Err…okay…let me know if you’d like to try a different one…?”

One doesn't get anything out of music of any kind. It's sort of just there, but that's all.
Another could eat bread and butter, and nothing else for every meal for the rest of his life. No variation.

They don’t want to experience/feel other people’s feelings. They have no curiosity of other people’s viewpoints or perspectives or way of living.
They’re so stuck in their own little “safe” bubble, they’re terrified to step out of it.

People have been conditioned to fear what they do not know or understand. They’ve been taught that anything outside the very narrow norm is BAD so they’d better not stray from it.
It’s a very sad and lonely way to live.
