Their actual Republican friends left the party or were eaten alive by MAGA but sure keep doing outreach to the people currently parading around in the skin of conservative movement.

Even pre-2016 it was idiotic. The Right has been operating in bad faith and building their propaganda networks since at least the early 90s. Trump is the direct result of of Rush Limbaugh pumping conspiracy theories into GOP brains and people like Newt Gingrich building careers off it.
