The median Kentucky voter's opinion is that Andy Beshear is a great governor, Donald Trump is the infallible king of America directly appointed by God who is never to be questioned, and that Donald Trump endorses the wrong people in state governor's elections and is to be ignored in such matters.

That was basically Amy McGrath’s strategy in 2020 when she tried to unseat McConnell. She ran the most expensive Senate campaign in history and even with the pandemic still got blown out, receiving 38% of the vote. Beshear’s success has more to do with voters being less partisan in state elections
