Personally, the idea of an underlying principal component vector describing genre was always my mental model, and I think it's (very!) cool that we have found math to point at it.

Yes it is crunching numbers. But when you get to the level of many billions of parameters, the ability for us to understand what math is being done at the representation level is lost.
But I'm "mad at AI" anyway because I think the discourse supposes all that is important in art is creative novelty, whereas I find art most impactful when it is contextualized in some experience of life or culture. Seinfeld rules because it was in discussion with the quirks of 90s yuppie life.
AI Seinfeld is compelling because it is created by AI, and thus is in discussion with the nature of art itself. That's cool! But it's hard to imagine laughing outloud from it
