I don't think I've come across a place that captures so evocatively the memory of the past within the fabric, as the sea of steps at Wells Cathedral. #thread #throwbackthursday

The perfect combo: the entrance to the steps to the Chapter House at Wells Cathedral is fronted with a delightful medieval door. I don't think I've seen any photographs that include it. So it took a pic..📸

The last chance I had to spend a day out with my Dad, we went to Wells, where we had had many family holidays. We sat near the bottom of these steps and he just held my hand in silence in a way he’d never done before.
