Kuminga was face guarding a guy who was *out of frigging bounds* & headed weakside towards a crowd with ~3 seconds left while the guy having the game of his life had the ball in total isolation on his half of the court. Wiggins forced left to the help that was there, but Kuminga *totally* screwed up

Hey, Rui was having a good game as well. 5 of 7 from deep with 18 points. If JK leaves him to help at the moment everyone wants which is really early, then Rui is there for an easy dunk. Or, JK steps up and Austin draws a foul on a moving JK. Reddick had a good play, and Wiggins had to stop it.

Not to mention Rui was *out of bounds* at the time. He would have had to know to get both feet inbounds, thus adding to the time needed for a pass to be made/etc. Plus there was LOTS of help weakside. It's a basic basketball play, and Kuminga's main weakness.

Other people made mistakes earlier (Draymond's pass TO, etc.) and I do think Kuminga should get more play time in general. But given that situation, Kuminga made a HUGE mistake. Really inexcusable given the time left in a tie game, who had the ball, and where other players were.

Nope. There were literally 3.5 seconds left and there was LOTS of help on the side Rui was going to and none on the side Reaves was on. No way "Rui gets a dunk" if Kuminga helps. It takes time to decide to make the pass, have the ball travel, catch the ball, and shoot.

It was a cute analysis setup entirely to blame the loss on JK not rotating to Reaves. Ignore all the help by the usual suspects leading to wide-open Laker 3's. Ignore the technicals giving free points.

Sounds like you are in agreement, we all didn't like the loss. Kumminga's help side defense is a known are of improvement for him, you can see multiple plays per game where he gets a little lost on the sauce on defense rotations.
