Granted, I used "meant to carry" as shorthand for "homologous with the duct in fertile individuals that carries".
I'm interested to learn about divergences in sex development where both Müllerian and Wolffian ducts develop in one individual.

Oh for sure. I've seen it phrased as "ability to do so" rather than meant, which is more accurate.
I think with intersex it's meant to make the group incredibly small so they can just go "well those are just freaks they don't count"
