So very cool to hear about the process! I did acrylics and an ink toner transfer on aluminum ducting once and found it very tricky to adhere. This is beautiful!

Aluminum is tricky to get going if you don’t gesso the plate, but I’ve found sanding it gives the paint a bit more to grab to if you absolutely need to work on it unprimed.

In a 2022 article from Science, a study noted that the sound of naval sonar was a similar frequency to that used by orcas, also known as killer whales. While the researchers do not think whales are confusing naval sonar for orcas, it is eliciting a similar, and notably heightened, fear response.
