Interesting to see how this impacts our transfer activity, cos make no mistake, not getting Champs Lge will have financial ramifications that will have to be addressed via sales

I'm not so worried financially tbh, it's more about the ability to attract players or keep players who want CL for me. I think the fact a few of the bigger players will ask to leave should take care of the financial side anyway because we will get decent fees.
For PSR yes but for UEFA’s SCR that has to be before the start of the season so it may drive some sales to get the wages and amortisation down this summer.
Sliding doors afternoon for us, probably never know what Team we could have built for a 2nd UCL campaign. Europa will see a 2nd tier recruitment effort, just hope we finally grasp a nettle or two in the process, some very long standing issues.
The uefa squad cost control moves to 70% of income. We were probably at about 84% in the last accounts. We need to shift earners like dendoncker, buendia but also arguably emi and digne.
Yep. Two or three. He will be rebuilding it again. Im normally pretty sentimental about Villa players but the big games and some of the performances in those games make me think that all are available really and I’ll understand why. (Maybe except Ezri Konsa).
The issue for me is that it means we are more likely to end up stuck with a few players we would ideally have sold just because we will already be losing a few we would rather have kept.
I think we were in for a wheeler dealer summer regardless, but i think it's safe to say this will impact our potential targets. The dial naturally shifts. Any European football means we have to comply with UEFA's PSR rules.
Yeah, I totally agree. We can't keep losing our best players because wage bill out of control. Needs sorting and we need to build a team. PS I think Emery can.
My understanding is it would have taken us 3 consecutive years of Champs Lge football to finally stop having to look over our PSR proverbial shoulder. But the turnover to wages ratio is a big issue that has to be addressed
That’s the most important trying, UCL would mask that a bit, whatever happens we need to lower the wages and find a way to increase revenue that isn’t reliant on UCL, an Amazon documentary would help!
Absolutely gutted how it panned out, I just hope manage to convince Kamara to sign and stay, keep Rogers and Konsa as well - think these are key to continue building

But definitely impacts medium term plans, particularly wages - we need to shift some big earners and sign players on lower salaries.
We’ll need to start turning up in big games to actually achieve tangible *success* though!
Olimpiakos, Palace, United. 3 absolute blobs
