Folks have a genuinely hard time understanding time within their own lifetimes. The time elapsed between the start of the Vietnam war and the launch of PS1 is the same as the launch the Ps1 and now, and that's weird for a 90s kid to consider.

I think the issue is that PC games aren't seeing that price hike for the most part. When Baldur's Gate 3 came out it was $59.99. When Larian released Divinity Original Sin 2 it was $45.99. I think console games are a scam at this point given the plethora of quality PC titles.
