A post crossed my feed today saying "the Star Trek version of Andor is a Maquis show" and now I'm horribly worried that, thirty years on, there are people who don't get that the Maquis were 100% in the wrong and that DS9 and VOY were much kinder to them than they deserved.

Anyway, the Star Trek counterpart of Andor is Enterprise, humanity stepping out on its own and refusing to be under the Vulcan yoke…and it’s not that similar of a story because the Vulcans are okay & the empire is not
Different era of TV, shows did not have any latitude to “say” much then, because the point was to sell Ads and keep people watching through commercials
It is silly to hold streaming standards tools TV products
Anyway trashing enterprise has been a thing on the internet since 2006 have fun
The Federation: at long last, we have made a treaty that ends the bloody war with the Cardassians. Unfortunately we have had to make territorial concessions which affect you, settlers on the Cardassian border. Naturally we will relocate you to a new home.
Federation: this seems wildly unwise given the Cardassians' whole deal. Please understand that if it turns out badly, we will not be able to protect you
Federation: that's too bad but also exactly what we said would happen. Would you like to be relocated now?
The Maquis: No, we're just going to start an unsanctioned border war.
Federation: you're going to do what now
Federation: You guys are assholes and criminals. Obviously we have no choice but to stop you.
A disturbing chunk of DS9 fans and writers: this is a situation with no obvious right and wrong.
Can it plunge the quadrant into war if the UFP just don't get involved and let the Cardassians get bogged down in a counterinsurgency?

(Aside Season 1. Never talk about season 1)
