One possibility is that the military requested a flight from Guantanamo to Ft. Bliss, presumably to move some a unit of soldiers back to their home base. Ft. Worth is one of the hubs for OAI, so the plane would have flown down to pick up the soldiers, taken them to Ft. Bliss & returned to Ft Worth.

Oh yeah, I flew a lot of low-budget "airlines" when I was in the military. Small seats, lots of refueling stops. My favorite stop was Shannon, Ireland--the bar was always open.

One "flight" from the MidEast to California stopped four times with two plane changes, took about 40 hours total. 😬

If you read the article (from 2022) it pointed out that these planes, used by athletes, are often chartered by other companies for other purposes when not being used to transport the athletes. The planes were operated by Eastern Airlines, which primarily has charter contracts with the US gov. / 2
