The huge outpouring of furry accounts on twitter who opened up about being ABDL when that one person was being harassed for it proves that this is far more likely than not.
We underestimate just how many people came out during that whole period like 2 and a half years ago.
I’ve always seen abdl as a more extreme extension of nostalgia. Some people like to play old ps1 games or eat childhood snacks. Heck in the mid 2010s one piece pajamas got super popular. They love bluey and Disney. But people stop short on their nostalgia. I think more would be abdl if acceptable.
Hard agree! I am in a discord group unrelated to ABDL and the way people talk about their headspaces and what theyd like from their partners I'm like... You guys are so close to a CG/l fantasy here! Lean in to it!
personally, i've always wondered how many people just never realize it, how many don't recognize what "that feeling" is just because they never connected it to the object(s) that cause it
nah i agree, a lot of people are just afraid to really start dipping their toes into it, even if they're curious or more so fully interested
sometimes it just takes the right push to get someone to give it a try
It definitely makes sense. I wore diapers to bed until I was 10, and even then, my parents just stopped buying them. I continued to have bedwetting problems well after. If that's the case, I had no chance! Lol I do think it's WAY more common. Every year, a new popifur comes out of the diaper closet.
youre absolutely right, and there's a lot of things that people do to create those cuddled, held, small, safe feelings that are not overtly "baby", like many spa treatments. also the surprising popularity of AB diapers should indicate how common this stuff actually is
I'm more in the camp that our fetishes are predetermined. Maybe we can gain new ones but a lot of them are just you discovering you already like a thing. You're usually just young the first time you notice and have no idea what it means. I remember a lot of those moments myself from like movies.
It makes perfect sense: It's a social taboo to be into something 'meant' for children, even though even the elderly wear them for medical necessity and no one bats an eye. Honestly people just need to look at fetishes as "As long as it doesn't involve ACTUAL children or animals, then who cares?"

Thankfully, I had a support system that understood and I was able to express it fully. Not everyone is so fortunate.

Diapers are a universal experience (or damn close).
It's something anyone in a western household would have been in, and that means in some, those neurons would have connected in a certain way....
So yeah it's got to be pretty common
then being trans was the social ostracism and it got normalised
abdl will be next?
