One way to get traction on this is to tie it to Musk, as a major consumer of lithium. He has infiltrated the government without any divestment or guardrails from conflict of interest. He could easily being using his outsized influence and his control of agency personnel to get this pushed through.

I wrote I’m against this for the undeniable negative repercussions on local habitat, environmental toxins to humans & wildlife, impacts on local communities. BUT ALSO 1st an investigation is needed for political donations b/w the businesses benefiting & the current administration & their PACS
