It’s fair to ask people to sort the recyclable from the non recyclable. We only have a green and a black bin where we are. I’d be happy with a third if it meant I wasn’t sending soft plastics to landfill or incineration

I know and we do manage that at least some of the time. But my point is councils need to make this frictionless to make it work - just removing bin days from the calendar won’t do it
And of course how much of the soft plastic is really necessary? Lots of small examples where alternatives are available (paper-based bags for bread and pasta etc.) but really needs to be stepped up.
I've got 3 big ones & a kerbside caddy. It's fine for me - I have a big garden & somewhere to put the bins. I can just roll them out. Harder in a terraced house & no front space or steps up to or down from the road. We need a better thought through solution imo
