Sometimes I think I should post my hot takes, but then realise my ‘hottest’ take is that Snape was an awful, abusive person, and that the attempt to give him redemption in the books made him seem more obsessed with Lily rather than in love with her. Which isn’t that hot a take, from what I’ve seen…

I personally prefer movie Snape better for multiple reasons, two being that he feels more realistic as a person + Book Snape shouldn't even be allowed to be a teacher, but he's a complicated person, yes
Book Snape is just a really weird thing like, sure, Dumbledore keeps him around because he’s a spy… but yet does absolutely nothing about him being a very abusive teacher?
I could go on but I don’t want to rant about it too much.
Alan selling Snape so well is a huge part of it, and Snape getting in front of Harry in Lupin's scene is exclusive to the movies IIRC
I love HP Movie#3
Like, thinking about it, how many of Snape’s worst moments made it into the movies? Like the constant abuse of Neville?
Book!Snape is far, far meaner than Movie!Snape and it's not even close OTL
