Oh FFS. Hovercraft parents. Helicopter parents. Let the child develop on it's own with gentle guidance, stop giving trophies and too much praise. Say NO when necessary, come up with age appropriate consequence. You people are nuts.
I beat my kids with rubber-insulated jumper cables rather than the more prevalent polyvinyl chloride sheathed cables that are the most available. I find this brings my point across nicely whilst not causing the sort of welts that brings unwanted attention from child services.
