1950s: 1 in 3 American workers were in a union and the wealthy households paid a 92% marginal tax rate. This allowed parents and grandparents to own homes and cars. It built schools, bridges, highways, hospitals, and took us to the moon. It created the middle class. We need to learn from our past.
