NEW: Boasberg's patience is wearing thin.
"In an ex parte pleading delivered shortly after today’s deadline, the Government again evaded its obligations."
He orders government to show cause as to why it didn't violate court order by failing to return migrants on 2 planes that departed March 15..

Of course, we don’t have government appointed judges.
Members of that particular government are not ageing well though (in all senses of the phrase).
If I blew off a summons for a moving violation, they'd lock my ass up.
they knew they broke the law.

Can you clarify as to whether all of this is typical? It seems like every time the judge speaks he's giving DOJ another deadline. Is this normal?
Court. To act or to require a party to act in less than a week is very uncommon.
Whether such glacial deliberation is a good or bad thing can be debated, but it is very much the norm.
> the Government again evaded its obligations
> orders government to show cause
> deadlines as early as tomorrow
all those are rare, and reflect how lawless the admin is being. judge seems to be building an appeals-proof case toward stuff the admin won’t like
they take “too long” to smack down bad behavior because of the desire to build as airtight a case as possible, head off possible avenues of BS, and be fair to the lawyers who (with trump exceptions) aren’t usually in on the BS and may need time
For instance, it will be hard for DOJ to appeal saying "24 hours wasn't enough time".
A Coup, be it by Adversaries or from within by TraitorousDomestic Terrorists… Is Not To Be Tolerated! #Resist
This feels to me exactly what Bannon meant when he said, 'We're going for head wounds and you're all still in a pillow fight' (talking to Michael Moore).
The judge is angry.
Does anyone in the administration actually care?
Arrest them already I’m done with nonsense
What country are we living in?
They have nowhere to go.
One would hope the removed people are brought back but what happens to the DOJ?
More "We don't have to" attitude from DOJ.
Who is going to sign the next affidavit?
Will any official dare to show up at the hearing on the 25th?
The higher courts would have every reason to grant an appeal if they apply the law. Or every pretext to do so if they toe the political line.
Tic-tock!!
Specifically, what can happen and to whom? And how are any sanctions applied?
And it reminds them they have power bc Clinton was impeached. 🍆
It's a good way to point out that we're watching their actions, not just their words.

John Roberts needs to address abusive practices by DOJ in his capacity as chair of the Judicial Conference.
Roberts' statement wasn't a rebuke. It was advice.
They stall.
They win again.
Delay, delay, delay.
Meanwhile, there are people "sitting" in an El Salvador prison experiencing God knows what.
This is a fkn travesty.
And our courts are too weak to keep up.
Bad shit, man. This is very bad shit.
👍
“Blah, blah, blah. Blah blah blah blah.”
What we expect:
“Bailiff! Escort these fuckers to the firing squad and execute them for failing to comply with my order.”
Asking for a friend.
Since it's one of these:
1-It is happening (feels doubtful)
2-They lie and try to retcon that it is happening.
3-Nobody is willing to lie, so they submit one that doesn't actually say it was happening.
More seriously, I expect it'll be some intern working for one of the people in the room. There's no way anyone Cabinet will deign to entertain this judge.
