What makes you think it is divisive in a them/us way?
But I still don't think it's sad that a primary teacher wouldn't want to teach in secondary (I know you haven't said this is sad).
There is so much we all can learn from EY practitioners, and indeed from anyone who teaches any age pupil.
There is such a lack of understanding across phases & it is not as one sided as some think
