If your episode cuts off 2 hours early but when you downloaded it, it SAID it was the full 3 hours, not sure what was wrong but it should work now. Just delete and redownload the episode

The flowers in the big illustration aren’t roses, they’re spider lilies also known as higanbana. They’re closely associated with death and the afterlife, with the higan in higanbana referring to the buddhist concept of the living world (vs shigan which refers to the world of the dead)

The flowers DO appear to be peonies, I think Jack is correct! In Japanese flower language, they are generally associated with Bravery, Honor, and Courage. Also, for a little Yu yu Hakusho fun, the Japanese name for thd peony is Botan.

Actually I wanna say a little more: I watched HxH with a room of folks and no one mentioned WW2 at all. I don't think you're wrong, but we didn't stop to have a 3hr discussion every 2-3 episodes. It's much less thoughtful to just have a playlist on and running and you watch 15 eps an evening.

So I think the immense value of your entire podcast is that it's a place to listen to a discussion that goes deep on something that maybe you just watched all at once and said "neat" and then did something else.

But I really don't think most people are that critical of media most of the time.
