Was looking for your wisdom on the Blackpool Comedy Carpet last night Col. Sunray. Found some classic Gunner Milligan, Beekeeper-in-chief Izzard & Basil Fawltyβs skit about the war but I fear any of Guvβs lessons were covered in equally cold spectators to the show. DEFINITELY needed my Irvin jacket.
Saw you at Bath, then Wolverhampton Lit Fest (bought and enjoyed Arnhem - Black Tuesday) - I was nuisance who gave you a story about the seventeen year old SS radio operator who guided his platoon to safety. Hope you had chance to have a scan...
Me and my lad will be seeing you in Sheffield Al. Plus a field full of beer and explosions in September! Particularly enjoy the QF3.7β HAA gun, as my Grandad was a gunner on one in the war (from defence around London to Germany, via Normandy and up to the Scheldt alongside Canadian 2nd Div.)
I used to think that the teaser for France should be βIf we had too many rules, but ignored them when it suited us, where would we be?β, but now I think that the answer to that is βThe Oval Office β π
Went on a stag do many years ago, dressed the stag up as Snow White, and the round was 13 pints of ale and a fruit-based beverage for the lady. Poor bastard was on Bacardi Breezers all afternoon.
