Shit - this is the Monkey Sanctuary - I worked there for a couple years. This is so sad. Hopefully the sale includes the stipulation that the monkey sanctuary continues.

It'd be sad to see them relocate - mainly cause it will disrupt the monkeys and their familiar surroundings. It's such a well designed sanctuary (as far as the monkeys are concerned), I doubt they'd find something comparable. And hate the idea of them being sent to zoos (forced on show). Ugh.

Its an amazing place, been there for 70 years I think, evolved into a proper sanctuary for monkeys. I knew they had to close their doors this year due to funding, so I guess something like this had to be expected but I really hope they can get someone who understands what they are doing there.
