Do you know about this book? https://mitpress.mit.edu/9780262544399/a-womans-right-to-know/ It focuses more on the UK and is a longer monograph. My book is very short because it's for a series, and you'll be able to finish it in an hour or two!

Yes, it's for Pregnancy, Interrupted. So many interesting things to say about how we think about how/when pregnancy begins when we tie it to a concentration of hCG.

Jesse's book was just published last year, although he's been working on the topic for years since it was his dissertation. And yes! Researching the pregnancy test really changed my thinking about how we understand pregnancy these days because of hCG testing.

It also completely changed how people were able to access abortion, which the FDA knew would happen, and it's one of the reasons it took almost ten years for the FDA to approve a home pregnancy test.
