I don't think the consensus is meaningful anymore; there aren't very many compromises you can make with fascists or Nazis before you're sucked into the tarpit.
Yea but in my good natured hearts I believe the middle between far right and far left are marginalized to our detriment. I get you completely. I'm starting to watch less news the cultishness is really depressing. I drive a truck. The place I work at has 3 guys with stickers simulating he's on board
The far left is completely marginalized as well; once you get away from the DSA, the political and social economic of the far left is somewhere between jack and shit.
And the DSA has vanishingly little influence aside from AOC (isn't she being shunned because she participates in the government?)
DSA has AOC & Rep Tlaib, which is *wildly* sucessful for a socialist party in the USA. And, of course, the accomodationist caucus has been flipping their shit about AOC ever since she won that first primary.
"Common sense" is just a way of laundering one's flawed base assumptions as tough-minded realism, and "consensus" is derived from presenting these assumptions to the public as the only viable choices. Democrats could dream bigger, but don't.
Yea.and yes you are much smarter than me, and you write well. That being said the donor class is destroying America. We need consensus. Aback to basics approach. I don't mean conservatism I mean basic function. Processes without donors best intrest. You want waste fraud and abuse removed but 4 real
Never claimed to be smarter, just clarifying that when we talk about a "middle path" in modern politics, it's advocating for "moderate" positions on a grid already laid out for us by the established parties controlling the terms of the debate. The true "middle" isn't even on the map, never has been.
