I was able to block its outputs to the public chats via automod. I used specific keywords/phrases that the bots only use to lock them out. (This does mute the user for 10 minutes.)

Furthermore, during stresstesting of the automod, we found that the user-bots (these are what they are) were able to circumvent a mute.

This may be unintentional, but we decided to do the automod technique as a security measure since we *do* have some permitted user-bots that alot of people use.

it functions as both a standard bot (invited to server by admins, is in the user list, etc) and also a client-installed "app" which is distinct from bots. this particular thing where you hover an image and see the "Edit image with Apps" button has to be blocked using roundabout measures like above

i will also say the whole thing about it secretly reading all server images isn't a thing discord apps can do, they can only see the exact message a user tells it to act on

the app also only replies in DMs so you'll be none the wiser if someone uses it, but... it's not reading everything by default
