It's not easy writing these days about Russia or its history. The country I once admired so deeply has become a rogue state itself. But that should not stop us from showing respect to the sacrifice of so many soldiers and civilians in fight vs 3rd Reich.

I share the background and deep gratitude for the sacrifices of the Soviet people in WWII. However, until the Russian people process their past, any move forward will remain extremely difficult.
I posted something similar. Notwithstanding the joint invasion of Poland (1939) and the Baltic states later, and their use of some camps as internment camps for the “wrong type of Socialists” (eg Sachsenhausen), the Russian people and land paid a heavy price from 1941
After reunification, it was a shame to see the pillars graffitied.
Nice to see a poppy wreath there laid by the British Legion last time I visited
That wasn't heroism any more than today. Just callous disregard for life.
WTF YOU CALL ALL SOVIET CITIZENS, WHO DIED IN WWII, "RUSSIANS" - WHILE RECOGNIZING NON-RUSSIAN CRIMINAL SOVIET OFFICIALS AS "NON-RUSSIANS"?!
FUCKING FED OF YOUR RUSSOMANIA, MOTHERFUCKER.
STOP PRAISE THIS BARBARIAN STATE HERE AND NOW.
