Honestly any chocolate in a cheesecake puts it in “why even have cheesecake” territory for me. It’s such a dominant flavor and it’s already in 99% of the desserts one sees around! It’s like the height of the bacon craze except it’s forever
Oh yeah, the bacon craze was AWFUL. I enjoy bacon but I like to taste other things. You couldn't get brussel sprouts without half a hog slathered on top (this was the 2010s, so it cost $78 and was served on a hubcap)
I didn’t even personally mind the bacon craze so much because I guess I like bacon more than I like chocolate but I recognized that it was silly/excessive
It was ridiculous. I knew someone who literally went into cardiac arrest after eating a Bacon Explosion (sausage and bacon wrapped in many layers of bacon, slathered in BBQ sauce and roasted)
Kale was annoying but it was at least a pretty healthy fixation.
I live in Southern California and I’m a vegetarian and I’m very well aware that I can get avocado on anything. And, yet, the option is always presented as if it’s going to be the most *delightful* surprise.

The new coffee creamer craze, though... Gross. Ick. The local market took away a shelf of yogurt to make room for that junk.
