if someone is always on red it kinda just becomes background noise for me, if someone i know is usually green is on red it kinda says to me they might genuinely not want to be messaged right now and i'd usually wait
My causal research suggests they do. If I feel like contact has been a lil light and I've been on Green, I'll go DND on Discord, and a week later my DMs will be busy again. It's happened three or four times where I've noticed that phenomenon.
Depends. I don't mind DMing people on red, my thought process is that they'll see it when they see it. If it's someone on green normally who puts themselves on DND then I usually won't message them at that moment.
I will DM people even if they're offline, sometimes. If someone's not on green I am just sending them a message they will likely get back to me when they can, or I am sending something that doesn't need a response.
no, if i have something i need to text you, im doing it regardless of status on discord. unless you put a custom status saying “DMs closed” no one is safe from me.
same boat here, I'm almost always on dnd but that's bc I'm a dm notif freak and dnd keeps me from checking them excessively when I hear pings (and/or picking up discord sounds when I'm recording desktop audio)

bonus discord feature not many people know about:
But If I wanna squad up in a game and theyre already in one then nah
Also it should be common practice to use @silent if someones busy, not red 100% of the time.
