Yes, you can. You need to get an old version of Kindle for PC (sorry, I don't know what the Linux equivalent is) and download all your books from the Kindle. Then remove the DRM, and you can send them to the new device. Removing the DRM is the tricky bit, but it's easy enough to find ways. 😉
The new reader's a PocketBook Era. I decided I didn't need a colour one, so it's only B&W. I thought about a Kobo, but they seem to me to be massively overpriced.
I shall google. There's not much on the Kindle that I'll re-read, but there's a significant TBR pile on there, and it'd be nice to be done with the Kindle altogether once I get a Kobo or whatever.
