I increasingly think of Jerome Bixby’s chilling short story “It’s A Good Life”, which portrays exactly the horror of a community being subservient to a capricious child.
To be fair to Trump. It’s not his fault. If people had turned out to cheer his birthday military parade, and the tank hadn’t squeaked in the crushing silence, he wouldn’t have needed to compensate and bomb Iran.
Was having that exact thought while walking the dog this morning. Musing on the beauty of the world in a summer morning…no wait…musing on the idiocy of the world and thinking, oh, it’s because he’s mad about his party flop.
Part of this will also be a need for the man baby to find a distraction in terms of NATO meeting in The Hague next Tuesday - ie he is trying to ensure being centre of attention if he attends or else he is looking to find an excuse not to attend?
